About Us
The Milton Keynes School of Ballet offers quality ballet training to the local community, ensuring that every child is nurtured to achieve their very best. Uniting a team of highly trained professional dancers and pianists, every class incorporates technique, creativity, imagination, and musicality.

Founder and Director Maddy Wynne-Jones, along with the other teaching staff, have extensive experience in teaching all ages in ballet, contemporary dance, choreography, and drama. The teachers take great pride in placing an emphasis on the enjoyment of movement and musicality, and believes adamantly in cultivating each dancer's individual creativity whilst developing technical excellence.

We teach ballet to the Cecchetti syllabus (this is one of the main forms of ballet, like RAD / Classical and French). The Cecchetti method, developed by Enrico Cecchetti in the 19th Century, emphasizes clear technique and is known for its clean lines, and balanced movements.

Why Choose Milton Keynes School of Ballet?
It can be hard to chose the right classes for your child. There are so many different kinds of activities that children can participate in outside of school. We've put together a list of why ballet is so beneficial to all children, and why the Milton Keynes School of Ballet stands above other ballet schools.

-
Ballet improves co-ordination, memory, concentration, and confidence
-
Ballet is a great way to build strength, flexibility, stamina, and improve overall health
-
Attending regular ballet classes encourages discipline and offers a sense of achievement, with tangible goals for even the youngest dancers
-
At the Milton Keynes School of Ballet, the teachers have all worked as professional dancers, with many still dancing in the industry today. They bring their experience, passion, and expertise to every class.
-
Every class is accompanied by a live pianist. We believe this is a fundamental part of ballet, and we are very proud to have career pianists who have extensive experience and an in-depth knowledge of playing for ballet class. Through this, children develop a greater sense of musicality, musical awareness, and rhythm.
-
We provide every dancer with a termly report, written by their teacher. The termly reports are an opportunity for parents and carers to understand what their child has been working on in ballet class over the term, what they have achieved, and what they can work on in the term to come. It allows parents and carers to track their child’s progress, and inspire the children to continue to achieve their goals
-
We put an emphasis on both technique and creativity, and work towards ballet exams, offering opportunities for progression for our young dancers.
